Vaporwave is a subgenre of music that blends smooth jazz and electronic music. Often represented by imagery combining 1990s web design with glitch art and bright tones, Vaporwave has shifted from being simply a music subgenre to also being an entire style tribe in the fashion industry that plays with the same type of visuals used to brand the subgenre of music. The style originated on the internet in the early 2010s as retro-futuristic aesthetics became popularized by the advance in technology. Vaporwave is a style that we still see in many stores and in street style today.
